Hello, my name is Ashlinn Tuning and I am an artist born and raised in Alaska. As a lover of art in all forms, I am also a dancer and hope to pursue dance professionally one day. In the meantime, I plan to sell my art to support that dream.

In a world of growing technology, A.I. and photoshop threaten to push artists aside. With me, and other artists in your community, you have a chance to work one on one with someone who cares about your experience and is passionate about what they create. Many hours of hard work is put into each piece, and many years of experience is behind that.
It would be a lie to say I am entirely self-taught. At as young as six, my older brother Miles tried to teach me everything he knew about art. I remember staying up past my bedtime, waiting for the whole house to be quiet, knowing Miles was still awake. Then, with my tiny sketchbook and pencil in hand, I knocked on his door begging him to teach me how to draw. I am pretty sure that is where my terrible sleep schedule began.
I owe a lot of my success as an artist to Miles.
Growing up, I was bouncing between different hobbies constantly. One week I wanted to be a fashion designer and then a boxer the next. If there was something new to try, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Eventually, sports became my priority and art slid into the background as a hobby. I did gymnastics for just under 5 years and was training level 9 before I transitioned to dance. I didn't have a lot of time to focus on my art between practices and school, but whenever I had a spare 30 minutes I would sneak in a portrait.
During this time, I was bouncing between all sorts of styles. I dabbled with impressionism and abstraction, styles that still influence my art today. For a while, I took a sharp U-turn toward line art and cartoons. Eventually, I settled back into portraits.

Up until recently, I only did art as a pastime. A small escape from my other responsibilities in life. However, my life has slowed down, allowing me to take my art more seriously. I hope one day my art can be profitable, but everyone has to start from somewhere. Thank you for being a part of my humble beginning.
